Briana Mackerron - ChairLead Clinical Pharmacist - Medicine, NHS Fife

Briana MacKerron is Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Medicine at NHS Fife and an Independent Prescriber. She has worked across hospital and primary care pharmacy services for over 20 years, with experience spanning clinical practice, medicines optimisation, service development and strategic leadership. This is alongside research experience with the University of St Andrews. Briana has a particular interest in neurology and multiple sclerosis, leading a number of service improvement and medicines optimisation initiatives. She is currently involved in strategic transformation programmes across NHS Fife, supporting the development of virtual hospital and Flow Navigation Centre (FNC+) models to deliver care closer to home and improve the use of acute hospital capacity.

David Watson, Dr
David Watson, DrGPwER Headache, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Dr David PB Watson graduated from Aberdeen University in 1984 and served as a GP Partner at Hamilton Medical Group for 35 years, retiring in March 2025. He has over 20 years’ experience as a GP with an extended role in headache at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. 

Dr David Watson chaired the SIGN 107 guideline on headache (2008) and made significant contributions to SIGN 155 “Pharmacological management of Migraine (2018). He has led and advised on several national projects, including a pharmacist education initiative with The Migraine Trust and NHS Grampian. Passionate about medical education, he is an Honorary Advisor to the British Association for the Study of Headache. 

Dr David Watson is the current Vice Chair of the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH).

Neil Ramsay, DrConsultant Neurologist, NHS Fife

Neil Ramsay is Consultant Neurologist based at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. Neil is first a general neurologist but has specialist research and clinical interests in movement disorders and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Neil sees a lot of patients, particularly in his FND and general neurology clinics, with migraine and is keen to build bridges with primary care to support the management of this patient group.
