​​​​​​​BeneFIX® (nonacog alfa) is recombinant coagulation factor IX indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of bleeding in patients with haemophilia B (congenital factor IX deficiency). BeneFIX® can be used for all age groups.1

Programmes and tools

Ready Rufus – Find Professor Tapps is a fun boardgame that teaches children aged 7 and older about haemophilia. The aim of the game is to guide Rufus through different scenes and help him avoid danger.  

​​​​​​​Ready Rufus also has his own sleepover checklist, educational brochure, activity book, and more.  

Haemo Heroes is a free educational app for children aged 5–13 years. They can select a Haemo Hero and do fun challenges, collecting rewards, avoiding danger, and ensuring their hero takes their haemophilia treatment. Access the app through Google Play or the App Store.   ​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​A leaflet designed to provide advice for patients taking prophylactic treatment. It covers information about timing treatment with activity, how to recognise a bleed and what to do in case of a bleed.

​​​​​​​This booklet provides information about haemophilia, its incidence, how it is inherited, symptoms, getting pregnant as a carrier, haemophilia and childbirth, and how haemophilia is treated.  

Haemophilia & Sport  

​​​​​​​This leaflet provides information about haemophilia, how to recognise a bleed, benefits of and considerations when participating in sports, choosing an appropriate sport, warming up, cooling down and what to do in case of a bleed.  

Information for patients prescribed BeneFIX  

This leaflet is for patients who have been prescribed BeneFIX® and provides information about BeneFIX®, what patients need to be aware of before they start treatment, how to reconstitute and administer BeneFIX®, how it should be stored and what the possible side effects are.  

Starter kits are designed to help your adult or child patients feel confident with BeneFIX® and self-administration.      

A choice of personalised starter kits are available to BeneFIX® patients, complete with supportive and educational materials to get your patients off to a good start.
