Pfizer UK moves to a digital, reactive approach to support with COVID-19 efforts
First and foremost, Pfizer would like to acknowledge and express our sincere gratitude to the ‘front line’ workers – in particular you, your colleagues, and supporting NHS staff – who are working tirelessly to help those affected by the COVID-19 virus.
We recognise the current situation poses unprecedented challenges for the NHS and patients and we have the upmost respect for your commitments and responsibilities in managing this health crisis. You may be aware that Pfizer colleagues have been working virtually from home for the last couple of weeks and we wanted to let you know that we have now taken the additional step of asking all Pfizer colleagues to stop any proactive engagement with healthcare professionals. Colleagues will remain available on a reactive basis to provide support and answer any questions that you may have for us. But we want this to be on your terms, so we will be ready to respond rather than contacting you proactively. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with your usual Pfizer contact if you would like information from us directly.
We have provided a summary below of the digital channels you can use to access Pfizer-specific information, including information about our medicines and supply status, which you may need at this time. Pfizer will continue to develop online patient support materials, medical education and other promotional content which may be of interest to you. If you would like to be kept up to date, please sign up to our email list here.
Globally Pfizer is committed to doing all we can to respond to the pandemic and have issued our Five-Point Plan to call for unprecedented collaboration across Governments, academia and industry to work together to develop treatments for those who are seriously ill and vaccines to prevent further spread. Our priorities are to ensure the health and safety of our people and the communities in which we work, and to ensure the continued supply of medicines to the patients who need them. In response to the NHS’ call for support, we are also re-prioritising our own teams to enable our medical and non-medical colleagues to volunteer their services and step in to help where they can.
We hope that these steps will provide the right balance in respecting your time whilst being there to provide information and support as required.
