As a senior paediatric endocrine specialist nurse in Newcastle, I developed a specialist interest in growth disorders and became an expert in supporting patients and families with rare diseases. I’m passionate about equitable patient care and advocating for the patient and their family to ensure high quality care or treatment is delivered.Outside WorkI have a busy family life with my extensive family and a dog. About BekkiI have a degree in Biomedical Science, started out in medical research and have spent 24 years in the the pharma industry. I have worked with healthcare professionals across primary, secondary and tertiary care with medicine ranging from statins, haemophilia, anti-psychotics and acromegaly. I have spent six years focusing on the rare disease arena, in both paediatric and adult services.Outside WorkI love exploring the outdoors with my family, especially long walks near our home. I am a keen ‘aerialist’ which helps me to keep fit and stay mindful, and love trips to the theatre.
